Crataegus spp. Fresh Hawthorn berries, flowers and leaves, have been considered very safe heart tonics for thousands of years. This herb acts to strengthen and help steady weak or irregular heartbeat. By dilating the blood vessels, it helps to lower blood pressure and normalize blood flow. It is a nutritive antioxidant. Hawthorn is high in flavonoids like other dark blue, purple and red berries, fruits and vegetables that help maintain disease resistance. Excellent for connective tissue.
